We have language tags for large bytecode powered platforms and tags for the platforms themselves. Should we have language family tags for those platforms? For example, JVM languages or CLR/.NET languages?

Some questions that could benefit might be: Relationship between C#, .NET, ASP, ASP.NET etc?, What do Java developers think of Scala?, and Is Clojure, Scala and other restrained by the JVM vs CLR?

Are there questions that would benefit from these tags? Do you have any examples handy? – Adam Lear Sep 1 '11 at 1:52
  • Questions in the line of "Which library can I use to archive xxx on the yyy platform"; it's another question whether or not those questions are wanted here anyway. – user281377 Sep 1 '11 at 13:37
